Remember, Remember.... one year later
The Gunpowder, er, Tabulation Treason
I’m gonna write a song, goes somethin’ like this:
“The Colorado River runs red, red, red
and that damned devil DICK CHENEY IS DEAD, DEAD, DEAD!!!”
What do you think, too cheerful? Anyway, I’m taking it as a good omen that The Dark One has kicked it one year after he didn’t get any credit for the greatest Coup of All Time, even though he laid the groundwork for it. Ol’ Grumpy Dick was none too happy when that vulgar conman from New York pulled off an even bigger heist than what he and Dubya did. I guess in the cultured circles of right-wing elites, election-stealing capers are only for the Bushes and their ilk. A political dynasty of thieves who stole so much money, land, and oil that they skipped jail and went straight to the top.
But I digress. We’re here to look back in wonder at this past year, and look forward with a more grounded POV and renewed hope. At least I am. What I’ve gained this past year is a completely new, dare I say “mature” and profound sense of acceptance- of Life, this here country, the world, and the Divine. I’ve learned, with no uncertainty, that I am definitely not in control of anything, except my own life. I’ve also learned, no lies, to hold my usually sharp tongue and not tell people what to do, think, feel, like, or hate. Those who know me are aware that this is a significant development. And I would like some applause for that. (LOL emoji)
Back to last year, watching the numbers come in from the swing states, especially, I fully expected the count to go on for at least a week, like it did in 2020. Like many other people in America, I was flipping back and forth between channels without prejudice, comparing their prognostications. My guides had confirmed with me again and again what I knew in my gut- Kamala would win. By a lot. At one point, I clearly remember CNN reporting numbers coming in from Pennsylvania, a key swing state, that showed Harris & Walz a full 45,000 votes ahead, with 95% of precincts tallied.
Flipping over to ABC News, they showed the same numbers, lagging a couple of seconds behind CNN. The electoral college count was still too close to call, and dependent on the seven swing states. That’s when I saw it- Kamala Harris’s lead in Pennsylvania had disappeared in a matter of seconds, not by percentage, but by the number of votes. The 45,000-vote lead had disappeared, without explanation, and no one behind the anchor desks was saying anything about it. I felt like I was losing my mind, and flipped over to PBS News to get some reassurance. Surely good ol’ PBS would have the correct information, or would at least notice a huge discrepancy like that.
Nope. I switched to MSNBC, even though that crew was starting to annoy me with their smugness about Kamala's win. Never a good idea to gloat before your horse crosses the finish line. They also were reporting the same skewed numbers, not noticing, or not saying anything about 45,000 votes suddenly flipping over to Trump’s side. Not even Steve Kornacki, data mapping wizard in the classic khaki pants. The look on Rachel Maddow’s face grew more and more grim, but I was shocked that she just kept reporting the data given to her without questioning anything.
Didn’t she see this fuckery of prestidigitation on a grand scale? Why wasn’t she asking Kornacki what happened to the huge lead Kamala had twenty minutes prior? Was their collective memory erased? I kept looking at my phone and laptop to get the numbers I had seen clearly on the screen just half an hour before. Not there. And then, they called Michigan for Trump, even though their tabulations were coming in suspiciously fast. Election officials in the Great Lakes State had projected that it would take them at least a day and a half to accurately count everything, because the race was supposedly going to be so close. Kamala had a smaller lead in Michigan at 9 p.m. Mountain Time, but it was nonetheless a distinct lead. And then suddenly, like someone had waved a magic wand and said, “Piff, poff, poom!” all of the results were in, and all of them were for Trump. How was that humanly possible?
It wasn’t. The tabulation machines just spat out numbers, the election judges accepted them for some reason, and reported them as fast as possible due to media pressure. At 10 p.m. I sat down at my laptop to finish writing the essay I’d started on here about my experience protesting at the Trump rally on October 11th. It was the first thing I’d written for SubStack, and I was nervous and distracted and nearly frozen to my desk in a rictus of despair. I finally finished it around three in the morning, and with one more glance at the election “results” as they were, tried to put myself to bed. In a last-ditch, desperate attempt at hope, I replied to the last email Kamala’s campaign had sent out with the pleading words, “DO NOT CONCEDE! DO NOT CONCEDE! WE NEED YOU!”
And then literally cried myself to sleep, finally drifting off around 4 a.m. The exact time that most of the now-called Dreaming Women were waking up. After about four hours of sleep, I woke up, strangely calm and serene, and secure in knowing that our Mamala Kamala had actually won the election. The putrid orange pustule had cheated, predictably, and obviously, in my opinion, with the help of “Richest Man in the World” Elon Musk, some tweaking of the tabulation software, and StarLink. Add in Russia meddling again, calling in bomb threats to multiple polling places, spreading misinformation beforehand, and muddying the waters to appear inscrutable.
As in 2004, I saw all of the finagling plain as day, expected it to be investigated quickly and overturned, and once again, I was disappointed. But this time, I was calm. I knew that everything would be alright. While the rest of the country was running around screaming and pulling their hair out, I was annoyingly calm. Not in a smug way, I hope, but in a “Let’s step back and see what happens here,” kinda way. I wouldn’t call myself psychic, but there have been several times in my life when I get flashes of a deep knowing, for lack of a better phrase. I’m a scientist by training, specializing in data analysis, and I'm indoctrinated to never state anything as a fact unless we have a substantial body of evidence (and even then, no). I'm convinced that intellectual humility is the best approach— and there are some things I just know. There are even more things that are obvious to me, and I’m really not trying to be a snot-head here; I can’t understand how other people don’t see the same things I do.
From what I’ve heard, developing your intuitive gifts is just like anything else; it takes practice, and it’s like building muscle, yada yada, but that’s another story. Apparently, that’s one of the things that’s rising right now, along with the collapse of the Patriarchy and rise of the Divine Feminine. So, the 4 a.m. club quickly became a thing, as more and more women and some men discovered that they’d all had the same experience of waking up at four a.m., morning after the election, and knowing two main things: 1) Kamala won, Dumpy stole it, and 2) we’re going to be alright. Thanks to Gia Prism and other psychics, astrologers, tarot card readers, and otherwise alert creators on TikTok and YouTube, we’ve come together and supported each other through this rollercoaster of a year. We’re not conspiracy theorists. We are rightfully questioning a very sus’ situation that the perpetrators had every motivation and plenty of resources to pull off. More and more evidence is coming out that we’ve been right from the start, and my gut says that the big reveal is right around the corner.
If you’re reading this, I’d be surprised if you haven’t reached out for some validation and reassurance on the internet, and found the same people I have. I’ll post their links below anyway, because they are awesome.
